Job Overview

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing and developing enterprise web applications for Government and corporate clients. You will work closely with our project managers, system analysts and technical teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

 

  • Design, develop, test and maintain enterprise web applications using PHP/Laravel and related technologies.

  • Perform application maintenance, bug fixing, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.

  • Develop new modules, enhancements and system features based on business requirements.

  • Analyse and understand existing applications through reverse engineering for maintenance and enhancement purposes.

  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrations with third-party platforms.

  • Perform database design, SQL scripting, query optimisation and data migration activities.

  • Deploy and maintain applications on Linux servers (Apache/NGINX).

  • Implement secure coding practices, authentication, authorisation, encryption and audit trail features.

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, API documentation and user manuals.

  • Participate in system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production deployment activities.

  • Provide technical support and resolve production issues within agreed service levels (SLA).

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on schedule and according to quality standards.

  • Continuously research and recommend improvements to application architecture, performance and security.

  • Perform any other technical duties assigned by the Project Manager from time to time.

 

Requirements / Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3 years of software development experience.

  • Strong knowledge of PHP and Laravel.

  • Good knowledge of MySQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Bootstrap.

  • Experience developing REST APIs.

  • Experience using Git version control.
